Longtime lobbyist Paul Stock will retire at the end of August, leaving his post as executive vice president and counsel to the N.C. Bankers Association. Stock has been a lobbyist for more than three decades, first working for the N.C. Savings and Loan League in 1979. Stock said the association will contract with Raleigh law firm Brooks Pierce to handle most of his duties. Firm lawyer Ben Davis will work exclusively for the association and lobbyist Elizabeth Biser will also lobbying on the group’s behalf.(THE INSIDER, 8/26/11).
