Community
Action for Children advocates on behalf of communities of concentrated poverty across North Carolina, working to address place-based poverty and build vibrant communities that can provide children with improved economic opportunity.
Neighborhoods of concentrated and/or persistent poverty represent a double burden for poor children--further isolating them from the services, built environments and opportunities that can address economic challenges and promote positive outcomes. Action for Children advocates for underserved communities by proposing evidence-based policies that can effectively revitalize communities, encourage economic development, and provide a pipeline for children’s successful development.
