Community Engagement

Action for Children works with local child advocates, service providers, policymakers, parents and youth in communities across the state to improve local conditions for children. Our community partners inform our advocacy, and we do our best to bring their concerns to state policymakers in Raleigh.

Communities for a Better Tomorrow, our main community engagement project, aims to enhance four eastern counties’ efforts to keep troubled youth out of or prevent their further involvement in the juvenile justice system by strengthening community partnerships and providing advocacy and technical assistance. Visit the Communities for a Better Tomorrow website at www.communitiesforabettertomorrow.org for more information on the multi-county collaborative, which includes Halifax, Northampton, Bertie and Hertford counties.

You know how children and youth feel. You know what children and youth are worried about. The best way to start being a champion for children and youth is to learn by doing. Now is your chance to speak up and speak out!
