RACE MATTERS
Embedded racial inequities pose the greatest barrier to equitable opportunities and results. The Annie E. Casey Foundation in Baltimore has conducted research on how today’s programs, policies and practices fail to appreciate these embedded inequities. The result of their research, in part, is a “Race Matters” Toolkit, an analytic and communications tool for all foundations, nonprofits, advocates and stakeholders on how to eliminate embedded racism in public policy and practice. The toolkit is focused on making the case, shaping the message and doing the policy work to avoid racial inequities.
Many thanks to all who attended!

We're Only Getting Started!
Action for Children hopes that the "Race Matters Conference" is only the start of an ongoing dialogue on how to combat and ultimately eliminate racial inequity in North Carolina.
