More than 165 medical, foundation and nonprofit leaders came from across the state to honor Dr. Sam Katz, seen with wife, Dr. Catherine Wiffert-Katz, who was awarded the third annual N.C. Children's Lifetime Legacy Award on June 18, 2008, at Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh.

The event brought together a large group of North Carolina pediatricians in recognition for Katz's lifelong dedication to improving the lives of children in the state.
